Our Quarters

It is pointless to try and avoid clichés when describing Le Gughe - the place is simply stunning. Words can't describe the place, and even the pictures on the agency website didn't do it the slightest justice.

A sleep-deprived writer was simply overwhelmed when taking the first few steps around the place. As the electronic gates opened to let the cars through, we found ourselves in an Italian paradise. Two separate villas decked out in typical Mediterranean terracotta cladding are set into extensive grounds which feature an impressively sized swimming pool, olive groves, citrus trees, and virtually 360° mountain views. I have never seen anywhere like it in my life, let alone had the good fortune to live there for a fortnight. I will stop trying to describe it in writing and hope that our photos and video can capture the essence of the place.

Even the facts that the grounds are patrolled by five sizeable but ultimately soppy dogs, the owners are discreetly on site and Alice was able to seriously sprain her ankle on a sprinkler cover (cunningly disguised as a sprinkler cover that is invisible to the naked eye), we know that we have struck gold (as well as garden irrigation implements) as we shrug our exhaustion aside and hit the pool.
